The Rapid Prototyping industry widely use the STL triangle mesh file format to change data and build models. At SYCODE, we understand that limitations of the STL file format, and have developed software solutions to give RP users the ability to edit and manipulate STL files. A STL file is usually a result of a solid model from a solid modeling system. At SYCODE we have pioneered a technology to convert a STL mesh back to a solid model which can then be edited in a solid modeling system. This mesh to solid conversion technology is wrapped up in a world class library called ACISLib. By converting a STL mesh back into a solid using this technology, RP users can using solid modeling software to repair damaged STL models, add supports and drains, optimize STL models by hollowing shells or thickening walls and a whole lot more. Our RP solutions empower RP users to do things that were never possible earlier.
