STL Import for SolidWorks - Stereolithography STL file import add-in for SolidWorks


Menu Button: STLImport > Import

The Import command imports geometric data from ASCII and Binary STL files into SolidWorks.



To Import a STL file

1. Select Import from the STLImport menu.

2. The SolidWorks File Open dialog box is displayed. Browse for the STL file you wish to import and click Open.

Note: SolidWorks 2001 and earlier do not support multi-body parts. If the STL file comprises of more than one object, only the first one will be imported and the others will be ignored.
