SKP Export for Solid Edge is a SketchUp SKP file export add-in for Solid Edge®. This add-in gives Solid Edge the ability to export geometric data from Solid Edge to SKP files.

SKP Export for Solid Edge tessellates solid bodies in a Solid Edge document into a set of triangular meshes. These meshes are then exported to a SKP file as mesh objects.

SKP Export for Solid Edge is very easy to use. It adds a new ribbon bar to Solid Edge Add Ins tab. Once installed, it automatically loads itself into Solid Edge and adds a new submenu called "SKP Export for Solid Edge" to the Solid Edge Add Ins tab containing these newly added commands.

Our licenses are single computer licenses and are locked to each computer they are installed on. Basically, the license key is specific to the computer's Host ID (the MAC address of the computer), and will not work on another computer. The installer picks up the physical MAC address of the network card connected to the computer which is basically “Ethernet adapter Network Connect Adapter”. So unless you change your network card, the key will always work even if you reinstall your operating system. If your internal network is periodically assigning a different Host ID to your computer, then please find a solution for this with your IT department.

Installation & Usage

Since SKP Export for Solid Edge is an add-in for Solid Edge, it must be loaded into the Solid Edge environment before it can be used. Please follow the simple instructions in the SKP Export for Solid Edge ReadMe document which is copied into the installation folder. After you have loaded the add-in file into Solid Edge, simply click on the menu items in the "SKP Export for Solid Edge" submenu to run these new commands. Truly, software made simple!

The SKP File Format

SketchUp is a 3D modeling program designed for architects, civil engineers, filmmakers, game developers, and related professions. It also includes features to facilitate the placement of models in Google Earth. It is marketed as an easy-to-use conceptual tool with a simple interface. A well known feature in the SketchUp World is the 3D Warehouse. Users can use their Google Accounts to upload models, and then browse the 3D Warehouse for many components and models. SketchUp's native file format is has a SKP extension.
