Points
Import for IntelliCAD
is a
Point Text file import plug-in for IntelliCAD® powered
applications. This plug-in gives
IntelliCAD powered applications the
ability to import point data from text files.
Point data is
commonly stored in plain text file as a series of x, y and z
coordinates, separated by a comma, space, tab,
semicolon or a custom separator. These text files may also contain other
information about the points such as point number and point
descriptions. Moreover, points from a survey may be stored in the Northing,
Easting, Elevation format. Points Import for IntelliCAD extracts
the point information from text files and creates point entities in the
active drawing.

supports the following point file formats:

Points Import for IntelliCAD
is very easy to use. Once installed, it must be loaded into the
IntelliCAD environment. Follow the simple instructions in the
Getting Started document which can be found in the
installation folder. Once loaded it adds new commands to
IntelliCAD's existing commands and a new submenu called "PointsImport"
to the IntelliCAD menu containing these newly added commands.

Installation & Usage
Since
Points Import for IntelliCAD
is a plug-in for
IntelliCAD powered applications, it must be loaded into the
application's environment before it can be used. Please follow
the simple instructions in the Points Import for IntelliCAD
Getting Started document which is copied into the installation
folder. After you have loaded the plug-in file into the
IntelliCAD powered application, simply click on the menu items
in the "PointsImport" submenu to run these new commands. Truly,

Online Help
The Point File Format
A Point file format is basically a text file containing the x, y and z
coordinates of a point on each line. Usually the coordinates are stored
in the XYZ order. However, points are sometimes stored in the YXZ order.
This is common in survey data where the YXZ order is referred to
Northing, Easting and Elevation. Sometimes each point in the point file
has a point number and/or description. An example of a point file with
points stored in the XYZ order and has point numbers and descriptions.
