PLT Export for Bricscad - Plot PLT file export plug-in for Bricscad
PLT Export for Bricscad
is a HPGL Plot (.plt) file export plug-in for BricscadĀ®. This
plug-in gives Bricscad the ability to export geometric data to HPGL
plot files.
PLT Export for Bricscad reads the objects in an Bricscad
drawing and converts them into corresponding pen movements in a HPGL
Plot file. PLT Export for Bricscad supports the following HP
plotters:
Hewlett-Packard 7475A
Hewlett-Packard 7550A
Hewlett-Packard 7580B
Hewlett-Packard 7585B
Hewlett-Packard 7586B
Hewlett-Packard Draftmaster 1 (7595A)
Hewlett-Packard Draftmaster 2 (7596A)
Hewlett-Packard Draftpro (7570A)
Hewlett-Packard Draftpro-DXL (7575A)
Hewlett-Packard Draftpro-EXL (7576A)
PLT Export for Bricscad is very easy to use. Once installed, it
must be loaded into the Bricscad environment. There are simple
instructions for this in the ReadMe file. Once loaded it adds
new commands to Bricscad's existing commands
and a new submenu called "PLTExport" to the Bricscad menu containing
these newly added commands.
PLT Import for Bricscad comes with detailed documentation as
well as a
tutorial
to get you started in the shortest possible time.

The PLT File Format
HPGL is the Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language designed for specifying 2D
graphical information for the HP range of plotters. It was not intended
as an interchange format but some software suppliers use it as such.
HPGL is a command set embedded in the ROM of pen plotters to help reduce
the work required by applications programmers to create plotted output.
HPGL uses two-letter mnemonics as instructions for drawing lines,
circles, text, and simple symbols. HPGL is the primary printer control
language used by Hewlett-Packard plotters. It later became a standard
for almost all plotters.
