OBJ Export for Alibre Design is a Wavefront OBJ file export add-on for Alibre Design®. This add-on gives Alibre Design the ability to export 3D solid data from an Alibre Design part and assembly document to meshes in a Wavefront OBJ file.

OBJ Export for Alibre Design tessellates the solid bodies in a Alibre Design part or assembly document into individual triangular meshes. These meshes are then exported to a Wavefront OBJ file as mesh objects.

OBJ Export for Alibre Design is very easy to use. It adds new commands to Alibre Design. Once installed, it automatically loads itself into Alibre Design and adds a new submenu called "OBJExport" to the Alibre Design menu which contain these newly added commands.

Installation & Usage

Since OBJ Export for Alibre Design is an add-on for Alibre Design, it must be loaded into the Alibre Design environment before it can be used. Please follow the simple instructions in the OBJ Export for Alibre Design ReadMe document which is copied into the installation folder. After you have loaded the add-on file into Alibre Design, Simply click on the menu items in the "OBJExport" submenu to run these new commands. Truly, Software made simple!

The OBJ File Format

The OBJ file format is a geometry definition file format first developed by Wavefront Technologies for its Advanced Visualizer animation package. The file format is open and has been adopted by other 3D graphics application vendors, making it a universally accepted geometry file format. The OBJ file format is a simple data format that represents 3D geometry alone - namely, the position of each vertex, the texture coordinate associated with a vertex, the normal at each vertex, and the faces that make each polygon.
