NX 2D Import for SolidWorks is a NX (formerly Unigraphics or UG) 2D drawing file import add-in for SolidWorks. This add-in gives SolidWorks the ability to import 2D data from NX drawing files.

NX 2D Import for SolidWorks reads 2D geometric data from NX drawings and creates corresponding 2D entities in a new SolidWorks drawing document. Colors, layers, dimensions, etc. are maintained across the translation thereby yielding an accurate SolidWorks representation of the NX drawing.

NX 2D Import for SolidWorks is very easy to use. Once installed, it must be loaded into the SolidWorks environment. There are simple instructions for this in the ReadMe file. Once loaded it adds new commands to SolidWorks's existing commands and a new submenu called "NX2DImport" to the SolidWorks menu containing the newly added commands.

Installation & Usage

Since NX 2D Import for SolidWorks is a plug-in for SolidWorks, it must be loaded into the SolidWorks environment before it can be used. Please follow the simple instructions in the NX 2D Import for SolidWorks ReadMe document which is copied into the installation folder. After you have loaded the plug-in file into SolidWorks, simply click on the menu items in the "NX2DImport" submenu or type "NX2DImport" (without quotes) at the SolidWorks command prompt and press "Enter". This will bring about the "File Open" dialog box from where you can select the NX 2D file you wish to import. Truly, software made simple!
