     Command       MCOffsetVertex

This command moves a vertex along the direction of the vertex normal by the offset distance. The offset distance can be positive as well as negative. A positive offset value will offset the vertex along the vertex normal, whereas a negative value will offset the vertex in a direction opposite to the vertex normal.

To offset a vertex
1. At the Select mesh vertex (OffsetDistance) prompt, specify the offset distance or accept the default and select the vertex.

Fig.A
shows the marked vertex to be offset.
Fig.B shows the same vertex after the offset command with an OffsetDistance=2

Note:
·  Offset distance can be positive as well as negative.
·
To deselect a chosen vertex, press Control and click the vertex.
