MeshCAD for Rhino - Mesh creation, editing and modeling plug-in for Rhinoceros

     Menu Button

      MeshCAD > Mesh > Stitch
     Command       MCStitchmesh

This command stitches loosely tied mesh faces.
The vertices of the mesh are analyzed for proximity to each other. If the distance between two vertices lies within a specified tolerance, the vertices are merged into a single vertex.
Some CAD systems export meshes with loosely tied faces. The edges of adjacent faces seem to coincide to the naked eye, but actually there are minute needle-shaped spaces between adjacent faces.

To stitch a mesh
1. At the Select mesh (Tolerance) prompt,
specify the tolerance and select the mesh to be stitched.

Fig.A shows a mesh with gaps (the area marked in white).
Fig.B shows a stitched mesh.
