MeshCAD for Rhino - Mesh creation, editing and modeling plug-in for Rhinoceros
 

This command splits an edge. The faces sharing the split edge are also split. A triangle face is split into 2 triangle faces, whereas a quad face is split into 3 triangle faces.

To split an edge
1. At the Select mesh edge prompt, select the edge that is to be split.

In Fig.A the above quad edge is to be split.
Fig.B shows the split edge forming three triangles.

The above figure shows a triangle edge to be split.

After the edge is split, it forms two triangles.

Note:
·  To deselect a chosen edge, press Control and click the edge.
