Introduction
Mesh To Solid for AutoCAD - Mesh to 3D solid conversion plug-in for AutoCAD
Mesh To Solid for AutoCAD is a plug-in for AutoCAD which
gives AutoCAD the ability to convert a mesh to a 3D solid.
General solid modeling software, such as AutoCAD, does not have methods
to manipulate or modify mesh objects. Solid modeling operations such as
boolean operations (union, subtraction, intersection), extrusion,
offset, taper, shell, etc. are possible only with solid or surface
objects. Moreover, there is no way to convert a mesh into a solid so
that the solid modeling operations can be carried out on it. Mesh To
Solid for AutoCAD solves this problem by giving AutoCAD the ability
to convert a mesh to a 3D solid.
Meshes in AutoCAD are of two types: PolyFace Mesh and Polygon Mesh. Mesh
To Solid for AutoCAD can create a solid from both these types of meshes.
Mesh To Solid for AutoCAD is designed to be extremely user friendly and easy to understand. It adds new commands to AutoCAD and also a new menu which houses these commands.
Mesh To Solid for AutoCAD comes with detailed documentation for
each command as well as a set of tutorials
to get you started in the shortest possible time.
