Mesh To Solid - Software to Convert a Mesh to a Solid

Mesh To Solid is a software to convert a mesh into a solid.

A mesh is a set of vertices connected by edges that describe triangular or quadrilateral faces. These faces describe the shape of the object that the mesh describes. Meshes are often used to describe closed solid or open surface objects. However, general solid modeling software do not have methods to manipulate or modify mesh objects. Solid modeling operations such as boolean operations (add, subtract, intersect), extrude, offset, fillet, chamfer, rib, draft, shell, hollow, etc. are possible only with solid or surface objects. Moreover, there is no way to convert a mesh into a solid so that the solid modeling operations can be carried out on it. Mesh To Solid solves this problem by giving you the ability to convert a mesh to a solid.

Mesh To Solid can read mesh objects from the following file formats:

  • OpenNURBS files (*.3dm)

  • AutoCAD DWG files (*.dwg)

  • AutoCAD DXF/DXB files (*.dxf)

  • 3D Studio files (*.3ds)

  • Stereolithography files (*.stl)

  • Wavefront files (*.obj)

  • SketchUp SKP files (*.skp)

  • Visualization Toolkit VTK files (*.vtk)

Mesh To Solid
saves solid data in the following file formats:

  • ACIS files (*.sat)

  • Rhinoceros files (*.3dm)

Mesh To Solid is designed to be extremely user friendly and easy to understand. It is as easy as opening a mesh file using the File Open dialog box and saving it as a solid using the File Save As dialog box. Shown below is an example of a STL file converted into an ACIS solid object and later imported into AutoCAD®.

System Requirements

Below is the hardware, software and operating system requirements for DWG DXF Converter running on the Microsoft Windows platform.

  • Operating System (32 Bit and 64 Bit): Windows XP SP2 or later, Windows Vista and Windows 7

  • RAM: 1 GB (Recommended 2 GB)

IMPORTANT! Purchasing a Subscription is highly recommended since it the most cost effective way of keeping your software up to date. Moreover, Subscription entitles you to get a second free perpetual license for your laptop, among many other benefits. For details please read the SYCODE License and Subscription Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

Our licenses are single computer licenses and are locked to each computer they are installed on. Basically, the license key is specific to the computer's Host ID (the MAC address of the computer), and will not work on another computer. The installer picks up the physical MAC address of the network card connected to the computer which is basically “Ethernet adapter Network Connect Adapter”. So unless you change your network card, the key will always work even if you reinstall your operating system. If your internal network is periodically assigning a different Host ID to your computer, then please find a solution for this with your IT department.

Note: Downloading this software indicates your acceptance to the SYCODE Software License Agreement. The price mentioned above is for a single user license. For your bulk-licensing needs please contact us.

Installation & Usage

Run the Mesh To Solid installer to install the software on your computer. To convert a mesh into a solid simply select "Open" from the "File" menu to open the file and then select "Save As" from the "File" menu to save the mesh as a solid to a solid file. Software made simple!
