ESRI Import for BricsCAD - ESRI file import plug-in for BricsCAD

ESRI Import for BricsCAD is a plug-in for BricsCAD. This plug-in gives BricsCAD the ability to import geometric data from ESRI files.

ESRI Import for BricsCAD
reads points, polylines and polygons from ESRI shapefiles and creates corresponding points, polylines and polygons in the active BricsCAD drawing.

ESRI Import for BricsCAD
is very easy to use. Once installed, it must be loaded into the BricsCAD environment. Follow the simple instructions in the ReadMe document which can be found in the installation folder. Once loaded it adds new commands to BricsCAD's existing commands and a new submenu called "ESRIImport" to the BricsCAD menu containing these newly added commands.

  Buy Without Subscription $149

IMPORTANT! Purchasing a Subscription is highly recommended since it the most cost effective way of keeping your software up to date. Moreover, Subscription entitles you to get a second free perpetual license for your laptop, among many other benefits. For details please read the SYCODE License and Subscription Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

Our licenses are single computer licenses and are locked to each computer they are installed on. Basically, the license key is specific to the computer's Host ID (the MAC address of the computer), and will not work on another computer. The installer picks up the physical MAC address of the network card connected to the computer which is basically “Ethernet adapter Network Connect Adapter”. So unless you change your network card, the key will always work even if you reinstall your operating system. If your internal network is periodically assigning a different Host ID to your computer, then please find a solution for this with your IT department.

Note: Downloading this software indicates your acceptance to the SYCODE Software License Agreement. The price mentioned above is for a single user license. For your bulk-licensing needs please contact us.

The ESRI File Format

The ESRI Shapefile or simply a shapefile is a popular geospatial vector data format for geographic information systems software. It is developed and regulated by ESRI as a (mostly) open specification for data interoperability among ESRI and other software products. A "shapefile" commonly refers to a collection of files with ".shp", ".shx", ".dbf", and other extensions on a common prefix name (e.g., "lakes.*"). The actual shapefile relates specifically to files with the ".shp" extension, however this file alone is incomplete for distribution, as the other supporting files are required. Shapefiles spatially describe geometries: points, polylines, and polygons. These, for example, could represent water wells, rivers, and lakes, respectively. Each item may also have attributes that describe the items, such as the name or temperature.
