CATIA V4 Export for SolidWorks is a CATIA V4 file export add-in for SolidWorks. This add-in gives SolidWorks the ability to export 3D solid data from a SolidWorks part and assembly document to a CATIA V4 file.

CATIA V4 Export for SolidWorks reads 3D solid objects in the active SolidWorks part or assembly document and converts them to equivalent CATIA V4 solid bodies. This plug-in does not need CATIA V4 to be installed on the computer or on the network.

CATIA V4 Export for SolidWorks is powered by the widely used 3D InterOp technology from Spatial. 3D InterOp is the industry standard for proprietary CAD file format data exchange and is used in almost all the major CAD systems. Besides data exchange 3D InterOp also offers powerful repairing and healing features which are extensively used in CATIA V4 Export for SolidWorks. Repairing involves checking the file for corrupted data and fixing the invalid data. Healing corrects the differences in precision. CATIA V4 Export for SolidWorks also creates a detailed log file which is extremely useful in identifying data translation problems and aids in locating and fixing errors.

Our licenses are single computer licenses and are locked to each computer they are installed on. Basically, the license key is specific to the computer's Host ID (the MAC address of the computer), and will not work on another computer. The installer picks up the physical MAC address of the network card connected to the computer which is basically “Ethernet adapter Network Connect Adapter”. So unless you change your network card, the key will always work even if you reinstall your operating system. If your internal network is periodically assigning a different Host ID to your computer, then please find a solution for this with your IT department.

The CATIA V4 File Format

CATIA (Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application) is a multi-platform CAD/CAM/CAE commercial software suite developed by the French company Dassault Systemes. CATIA is the cornerstone of the Dassault Systemes product lifecycle management software suite. Although later versions of CATIA V4 implemented NURBS, V4 principally used piecewise polynomial surfaces. CATIA V4 uses a non-manifold solid engine.
