Menu Button: 3DSImport > Import

The Import command imports geometric data from 3DS files into SolidWorks.

To Import a 3DS file

1. Select Import from the 3DSImport menu.

2. The SolidWorks file Open dialog box is displayed. Browse for the 3DS file you wish to import and click Open.

Note: SolidWorks 2001 and earlier do not support multi-body parts. If the 3DS file comprises of more than one object, only the first one will be imported and the others will be ignored.
