3DS Export for ARES - 3D Studio 3DS file export plug-in for ARES

3DS Export for ARES is a 3D Studio® 3DS file export plug-in for ARES®. This plug-in gives ARES the ability to export meshes from an ARES drawing to a 3D Studio 3DS file.

An object in a 3DS file is comprised of a set of triangular faces. 3DS Export for ARES reads meshes (namely, PolyFace Mesh, Polygon Mesh and 3D Face) from the active ARES drawing and writes them out to a 3DS file.

3DS Export for ARES is very easy to use. Once installed, it must be loaded into the ARES environment. Follow the simple instructions in the ReadMe document which can be found in the installation folder. Once loaded it adds new commands to ARES's existing commands and a new submenu called "3DSExport" to the ARES menu containing these newly added commands.

  Buy Without Subscription $149

IMPORTANT! Purchasing a Subscription is highly recommended since it the most cost effective way of keeping your software up to date. Moreover, Subscription entitles you to get a second free perpetual license for your laptop, among many other benefits. For details please read the SYCODE License and Subscription Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

Our licenses are single computer licenses and are locked to each computer they are installed on. Basically, the license key is specific to the computer's Host ID (the MAC address of the computer), and will not work on another computer. The installer picks up the physical MAC address of the network card connected to the computer which is basically “Ethernet adapter Network Connect Adapter”. So unless you change your network card, the key will always work even if you reinstall your operating system. If your internal network is periodically assigning a different Host ID to your computer, then please find a solution for this with your IT department.

Note: Downloading this software indicates your acceptance to the SYCODE Software License Agreement. The price mentioned above is for a single user license. For your bulk-licensing needs please contact us.

The 3DS File Format

The 3DS file format is the native file format of 3D Studio. 3D Studio has now been replaced by 3ds Max whose native file format has a .max file extension. However, 3ds Max is still able to read and write .3ds files. 3ds Max is one of the most widely-used off the shelf 3D animation programs. It has strong modeling capabilities, a flexible plug-in architecture and a long heritage on the Microsoft Windows platform. It is mostly used by video game developers, TV commercial studios and architectural visualization studios. It is also used for movie effects and movie pre-visualization.
