3DM Import for AutoCAD - Rhinoceros 3DM file import plug-in for AutoCAD


This tutorial provides the necessary information and hands-on experience to help you get started with 3DM Import for AutoCAD.


Step 1:
Start AutoCAD.

Step 2:
Select Import from the 3DMImport menu or type 3DMImport at the AutoCAD command prompt and press Enter

Step 3:  The AutoCAD Open dialog box is displayed. Browse for the file C:\Program Files\SYCODE\3DM Import for AutoCAD\Samples\AutoCAD Color Wheel.3dm and click Open.


 

Step 4: The 3DM Import for AutoCAD Options dialog box is displayed. Set the options as required and click OK.

The figure below shows the final result.

The options box gives you the flexibility to choose the output of the 3DM file.



Explanation of the Options dialog box

Explode polycurves - Breaks objects down into polycurves.

Explode meshes - Breaks objects down into meshes.

Explode blocks - Breaks objects down into blocks.
