3DM Export for KeyCreator is a Rhinoceros 3DM file export add-in for KeyCreator. This add-in gives KeyCreator the ability to export 3D solid and surface data from a KeyCreator part or assembly document to 3D polygon meshes in a 3DM file.

3DM Export for KeyCreator tessellates solid bodies in a KeyCreator document into a set of triangular meshes. These meshes are then exported to a 3DM file as mesh objects. The 3DM file can then be imported into a variety of CAD applications.

3DM Export for KeyCreator is designed to be extremely user friendly and easy to understand. Once installed, it must be loaded into the KeyCreator environment. To load the add-in follow the simple instructions in the ReadMe file. Once loaded it adds new commands to KeyCreator. It also adds a new submenu called "3DM Export for KeyCreator" to the KeyCreator's "Add-Ins" menu containing these commands.

Our licenses are single computer licenses and are locked to each computer they are installed on. Basically, the license key is specific to the computer's Host ID (the MAC address of the computer), and will not work on another computer. The installer picks up the physical MAC address of the network card connected to the computer which is basically “Ethernet adapter Network Connect Adapter”. So unless you change your network card, the key will always work even if you reinstall your operating system. If your internal network is periodically assigning a different Host ID to your computer, then please find a solution for this with your IT department.

Installation & Usage

Since 3DM Export for KeyCreator is an add-in for KeyCreator, it must be loaded into the KeyCreator environment before it can be used. The 3DM File Format

The 3DM (3D Model) file format is the native file format of Rhinoceros, the NURBS modeling software from Robert McNeel & Associates. The OpenNURBS Initiative was founded by Robert McNeel & Associates in January 2000, with the sole purpose of providing CAD, CAM, CAE and computer graphics software users reliable methods for transferring 3D geometry between applications via the 3DM file format. TerrainCAD, our terrain generation, editing and modeling software, also uses the 3DM file format as its native file format.
