SYCODE launches nine new add-ons for Alibre Design

Panaji, Goa - 31st Jul, 2007 - SYCODE today launched nine new file import and export add-ons for Alibre Design.

"Alibre Design is slowly but steadily making inroads into the CAD software industry. The nine add-ons include five import and four export add-ons. The file import add-ons are:

(1) STL Import for Alibre Design: This add-on gives Alibre Design the ability to read Stereolithography (.stl) files. This is particularly useful to Rapid Prototyping service beureaus who wish to modify STL files and do not have access to the original NURBS model. (2) OBJ Import for Alibre Design: This add-on gives Alibre Design the ability to read Wavefront (.obj) files. Users of other CAD software such as Maya can export their models to the OBJ file format which can then be brought into Alibre Design using this add-on. (3) 3DS Import for Alibre Design: This add-on gives Alibre Design the ability to read 3D Studio (.3ds) files. 3DS is a common file format used to web sites that offer 3D model data on the internet. (4) 3DM Import for Alibre Design: This add-on gives Alibre Design the ability to read mesh data from Rhinoceros (.3dm) files. Alibre Design has a 3DM file import option. However meshes in a 3DM file are ignored across the translation. (5) PLT Import for Alibre Design: This add-on gives Alibre Design the ability to read HPGL Plot (.plt) files. This add-on comes in handy to read legacy CAD data which is available as plot files only. The file export add-ons are:

(1) OBJ Export for Alibre Design: This add-on gives Alibre Design the ability to write Wavefront (.obj) files.
