SYCODE launches Mesh To Solid 1.0

Panaji - 23rd May, 2005 -
SYCODE today launched Mesh To Solid, a software to convert a mesh to a solid.

Mesh To Solid gives you the ability to create a solid object from a triangular or quad mesh. Mesh To Solid can read mesh objects from Stereolithography (STL), Wavefront (OBJ) and OpenNURBS/Rhino (3DM) files and can write solid objects to ACIS (SAT) and OpenNURBS/Rhino (3DM) solid files.

"Conversion of a mesh to a solid object has always been a bottleneck in solid modeling, especially in product design and reverse engineering", explains Deelip Menezes, proprietor of SYCODE. "Meshes are no longer regarded as the end result of solid modeling (to be used for rapid prototyping, rendering, visualization, etc.). In fact, applications like reverse engineering calls for meshes to be the starting point. However, general solid modeling software have little or no support for modeling mesh objects and software which do model meshes do not come cheap. This has give rise to a need for an affordable software to convert a mesh into a solid so that general solid modeling software can be used to work on mesh objects. Mesh To Solid is that software".
